Q&A sites are my favorite place to go to when I need answers, most of the time I don’t even need to ask the question. A Q&A site, otherwise known as a question-and-answer site, allows people to ask questions and receive answers from people who are eager to help and hopefully have the experience to do so. Most of the time you can get fast answers by looking up questions that have already been asked, but you can also wait for someone to answer your question.
Popular Q&A sites include Quora created in June, 2009 with the motto ‘the best answer to any question’, an example of how this works is this question inquiring about the most viewed questions on Quora. Another Q&A site is Yahoo! Answers, created in June 2005 (I’m noticing a trend with June) and this was launched to replace Ask Yahoo!. An example of how this website works is this question asking about what kind of books people like to read.
Although it is not a good idea to market your product directly on Q&A sites, a company or brand can build a positive reputation by providing detailed and useful answers. This shows that the company’s spokespeople are knowledgeable in certain fields and eager to help. These sites can also help build links to personal profiles or product pages, getting consumer’s attention. Q&A sites are perfect for building though leadership online and by creating and sharing answers, a social media marketer can expand their brand and company.
